The Glenfarclas Easter Edition Vintage 2016 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited-edition special release that reflects the classic style of the historic family-run Glenfarclas Distillery with particular depth. Re-released, this Easter Edition was distilled in 2016 and matured entirely in the distillery’s most prized Oloroso sherry casks. Maturation took place in the traditional Dunnage Warehouses, whose cool, constant climate favours the slow development of complex flavours. Bottled at 46%, this limited edition is full-bodied, structured and elegant, with a clear emphasis on sherry-infused depth and maturity.

The selection of casks is central to the character of this bottling. The Oloroso sherry casks are personally selected by Chairman John L. S. Grant at the family-run Bodega José y Miguel Martín. The meticulous cask-making process, including air-drying the wood for up to 18 months, forms the basis for the intense, elegant style. Maturation entirely in these casks leaves a lasting mark on the whisky, imparting complex sherry aromas, pronounced fruity notes, dark chocolate and a Demerara sweetness on the finish. This is complemented by the ‘Made to Age’ philosophy, the traditional direct-fired stills and storage in dunnage warehouses – four principles that together stand for the very highest quality.
