Description
Samai Premium Gold Rum is the first and, at the same time, iconic release from the Samai Distillery in Cambodia and is regarded as the benchmark for high-quality craft rum from South-East Asia. Produced from rich Cambodian sugarcane molasses, this rum reflects the local terroir with remarkable clarity. A subtle addition of local organic honey enhances the natural intensity of the molasses and lends the distillate a distinctive, elegant sweetness. Distillation takes place traditionally in copper pot stills, which promotes depth, texture and aromatic precision.
Maturation, lasting between two and four years, takes place in a carefully curated selection of French and American oak casks, complemented by ex-bourbon and sherry casks. This cask management strikes a balance between wood, sweetness and spice, and underlines the complex yet accessible style. Bottled at 41% ABV, Samai Gold Rum is full-bodied, well-balanced and versatile – equally impressive when enjoyed neat or in premium cocktails.
