The Planteray Xaymaca Special Dry Jamaican Rum is an authentic Jamaica pot still rum that brings the heritage and unmistakable character of the classic Jamaican "rum funk" back to life. With an alcohol content of 43% vol., this exceptional rum represents a return to the intense, powerful flavours that made Jamaican rums of the 19th century world-famous.


Planteray Xaymaca is made from 100% pot still rums - a traditional distillation method that produces particularly aromatic, complex distillates. The blend comes from two of Jamaica's most renowned distilleries: Long Pond Distillery and Clarendon Distillery Ltd. It is based on the finest molasses, which is fermented for between one and three weeks, depending on the distillery, to create maximum flavour and depth. Distillation takes place in classic copper stills (John Dore & Vendome pot stills).


The rum is first matured under tropical conditions in bourbon barrels in Jamaica before being taken to France for refinement, where it receives its elegant, dry finish in Ferrand oak barrels - a process that bears the signature of master blender Alexandre Gabriel.
