The Zwack Unicum Riserva 40% vol. 0.7 l + GB is an exceptional and luxurious edition of the famous Hungarian herbal liqueur Unicum, which develops a particularly deep and complex interplay of flavours thanks to its double maturation in two different types of cask. Produced in the traditional Zwack Unicum distillery in Budapest, the Unicum Riserva epitomises Hungarian craftsmanship, centuries-old knowledge and the consistent further development of a national cult drink.


Unicum Riserva owes its uniqueness to a double barrel ageing process. Firstly, the original Unicum is stored in the distillery's largest and oldest wooden barrel, which has been resting in Zwack's historic cellars for over eighty years. Over the decades, an aromatic layer has formed on the barrel walls, which the master distillers affectionately refer to as "black honey". This provides additional depth, warmth and complexity to the flavour profile.


In the second maturation stage, the Unicum is transferred to Tokaji oak barrels, in which the famous Hungarian sweet wine Tokaji Aszú was previously stored. These barrels give the liqueur its exceptionally soft, round structure and bring fruity, vinous nuances into balance with the bitter-spicy herbal tones that have characterised Unicum for generations.


The result is a noble, multi-faceted herbal liqueur with perfectly balanced flavours of bitter herbs, dried fruits, honey and fine wood, combining both tradition and innovation. Each bottle is an expression of Hungarian distilling art at the highest level - authentic, powerful and harmoniously matured.
