Zwack Unicum Riserva is an exceptional herbal liqueur from Hungary, with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, in a 0.7-litre bottle complete with a gift box. As the first bottling of its kind, it elevates the classic herbal liqueur to the super-premium segment, combining Unicum’s traditional recipe with a unique double ageing process. It is based on the original Zwack Unicum, which is produced from a secret blend of over 40 herbs and spices. The liqueur is then initially matured in the largest and oldest cask at the Zwack distillery, which has been housed in the Zwack family’s historic cellars for more than 85 years. Over the decades, a natural layer of so-called ‘black honey’ has formed inside it, lending the liqueur additional depth, richness and complexity.


In the second stage of maturation, Zwack Unicum Riserva is transferred to casks from Izabella Zwack’s Dobogó vineyard, which previously held fine Tokaji wine. This special finish lends the herbal liqueur an elegant fruitiness and an exceptional balance. The characteristic bittersweet herbal flavour of the classic Unicum is harmoniously complemented by gentle notes of Tokaji, subtle dried fruit and hints of dried apricots. The result is a complex, premium herbal liqueur that combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative barrel ageing and delights both when enjoyed neat and as an exclusive digestif.
