The distillates are aged for at least 20 years in an elaborate Solera system comprising no fewer than twelve tiers of casks. During this process, the brandy gradually moves through the various stages of ageing, whilst the quantities drawn off are continuously replenished with younger distillates. The casks used previously contained Oloroso sherry, which gives the brandy its characteristic depth, delicate sweetness and exceptional complexity. The long ageing period and careful barrel selection give the Gran Duque D'Alba Oro Solera Gran Reserva its unmistakable character and make it one of the most prestigious bottlings from Jerez.
