Description
Pasote Tequila comes from the Mexican state of Jalisco and is produced in Jesús María by master distiller Felipe J. Camarena.
The name ‘Pasote’ symbolises the courageous spirit of the Aztec warriors. They usually celebrated their victories and rituals by drinking agave juice. Pasote Tequila is also distilled from the blue Weber agave.
To produce the tequila, the agave hearts are baked in traditional ovens and crushed using a mechanical tahona. A mixture of 40 per cent pure rainwater and 60 per cent spring water is used for distillation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.
The bottle designs for Pasote Tequila feature illustrations dedicated to the sun god. Pasote Blanco depicts the Aztec sun god Tonatiuh – the patron of warriors. The bottles are handcrafted by a family of glass artisans in Mexico.
