The Dos Maderas PX 5+5 Years Old Triple Aged Spirit Drink combines Caribbean rum tradition with the long-standing expertise of the Spanish sherry house Williams & Humbert. It is crafted from selected rums from Barbados and Guyana, which are first aged for five years in the Caribbean. They are then transported to Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, where a further ageing phase begins. The spirit first spends three years in casks that previously contained ‘Dos Cortados’ VOS 20-Year-Old Palo Cortado sherry. This is followed by a final two-year maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks that previously held Don Guido PX VOS 20 Years. This multi-stage process gives rise to the designation ‘5+5 Years’ and the characteristic triple-aged style.

A total of ten years’ maturation across three distinct cask phases results in a complex spirit whose production blends Caribbean and Andalusian influences. The final Pedro Ximénez cask finish, in particular, shapes the rich and multi-layered character of the bottling. Behind Dos Maderas stands Bodegas Williams & Humbert, a long-established company from Jerez, whose extensive experience with sherry and Solera systems forms a key foundation for the range. Dos Maderas PX 5+5 is bottled at 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle. Due to its product specification, it is classified as a spirit drink or a rum-based spirit and should therefore not simply be described as a classic rum, despite its rum base.
