Founded in 2010 by brothers Steve and Paul Beam, the Limestone Branch Distillery is a relatively young producer of American whisky in Kentucky, the ‘Bourbon State’. Despite its relatively short history, the distillery places great importance on its long-standing family tradition of whisky distilling, which spans seven generations. Their great-great-grandfather, Washington Dant, was an early bourbon pioneer, and their great-grandfather, Minor Case Beam, was a member of the famous Jim Beam family.

In the 1960s, the Yellowstone whisky brand was one of the leading names in the USA, until, after several changes of ownership, it eventually came under the ownership of Luxco. Luxco founded the Limestone Branch Distillery specifically for the production of the Yellowstone brand.

This special single barrel bourbon comes from the annual Yellowstone Hand Picked Collection and was carefully selected from cask #9099. This particular cask contains a harmonious blend of 4- to 6-year-old whiskies, which develop remarkable depth and complexity through their maturation. The whiskies were matured exclusively in new, heavily charred American oak casks, which give the bourbon its characteristic, robust flavour and rich aromas of vanilla and caramel.
