The name of the Austrian Empire Navy Rum Novara goes back to a scientific expedition of the Austrian Navy with the frigate "Novara", which was carried out between 1857 and 1859 under the command of Commodore Bernhard von Wullerstorf-Urbair. This first expedition of its kind was initiated and financed by Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian.

The Austrian Empire Navy Rum Novara is a high-quality blend consisting of rums that have been matured for 5 to 8 years in oak barrels. The speciality of this blend is that the rums come from three oceans, namely the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. This unique blend combines rums from Mauritius, Venezuela, Indonesia and the Philippines, resulting in a rich, complex and smooth flavour profile.
