This Yellow Rose Whiskey is named after Yellow Rose Distilling LLC, the first legal distillery in Houston. The name pays tribute to Emily West, known as ‘The Yellow Rose of Texas’, who played a decisive role in the victory that led to Texas’s independence in 1836.

As the name suggests, this Yellow Rose Harris County Bourbon Whisky breaks all the traditional rules. It is made from 100 per cent yellow maize, Elbon rye and San Jacinto malted barley, and is matured in small American oak casks right here in Houston. The marked temperature fluctuations of 15–20 degrees in this part of Texas give the bourbon unique characteristics that can only be achieved here. These fluctuations allow for a more intense interaction between the whisky and the wood, resulting in complex flavours and a distinctive depth. The ‘angel’s share’ – the proportion of whisky that evaporates each year – is 15 per cent, making this whisky extremely rare and valuable.

The production process utilises a traditional pot still method, which allows the whisky to be produced in small, carefully monitored batches. This method ensures that every drop is of the highest quality and possesses the authentic flavour that delights connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
