The Planteray Cut & Dry Artisanal Infusion Coconut 40% Vol. 0.7 litre is an exceptional Caribbean spirit that is produced entirely in Barbados and combines two essential elements of island culture: rum and coconut. It is produced at the West Indies Rum Distillery, where only molasses is used as a raw material. After a 3-4 day fermentation process, the rum is distilled in both pot stills and column stills. The basis of this infusion rum consists of a combination of aromatic pot still rum and elegant column still rum, which is later supplemented with a natural coconut infusion.


Only ripe coconuts harvested in Barbados are used for the production, which are opened by hand and dried naturally in the Caribbean sun. This traditional method concentrates the essential oils and intensifies the typical flavour profile of the coconut. The dried coconut pieces are then placed in a mixture of Barbados rums and slowly infused. Only then is the fruit infusion married with additional Barbados rum, resulting in a harmonious, multi-layered flavour profile. The long development period - local coconut farmers and the distillery experimented together for around four years to find the ideal recipe - is reflected in the elegance and precision of the end product. As coconut farming in Barbados is still in its infancy, Planteray Cut & Dry is currently still produced in limited quantities, which emphasises its special character.
