Código 1530 Tequila is a premium tequila brand that originated in Amatitán, a city in the Jalisco region of Mexico. It is known for its high-quality, artisanal production methods and its commitment to producing exceptional tequilas.

The name "Código 1530" is inspired by the centuries-old codex that prescribes the exact method of tequila production in the Los Bajos region of Jalisco. This code was introduced to maintain the integrity and quality of tequila production.

To produce Código 1530 Reposado, the distillers use the same high-quality 100% blue Weber agave that is used for all Código tequilas. The agave is harvested at its peak ripeness and cooked in traditional brick ovens to extract its flavours and sugars. After cooking, the agave is crushed and the juice is fermented with a yeast strain developed by Código. The fermented liquid is then double distilled in small copper stills, a process that helps to refine the tequila's character and ensure a smooth and consistent product. The reposado expression of Código 1530 undergoes a maturation process of up to six months. During this time, the tequila rests in French white oak barrels made from Napa Valley Cabernet. This maturation gives the tequila rich flavours, aromas and a beautiful golden hue.
