The name Port Charlotte refers to the distillery’s intensely smoky whisky range, with each bottling identified by a specific alphanumeric code. The PMC:01 edition is part of the exclusive Cask Exploration Series, which focuses on small batches with distinctive cask maturations. This whisky was distilled in 2013 and initially matured for four years in first-fill bourbon casks, during which time it developed sweet vanilla and oak notes. It was then finished for five years in Pomerol wine casks – one of the most renowned appellations on the right bank of Bordeaux. This exceptional choice of casks lends the whisky a fascinating depth, fruity accents and an elegant structure.
