Dos Monarcas XO Panama Aged Spice is a premium rum-based spirit from Panama, crafted from a carefully composed blend of selected, matured Panamanian rums. For the blend, different rums are selected according to vintage, age, distillation method and ageing, and then blended together. The distillates used have been aged for eight years. When blending, Dos Monarcas employs a special method inspired by whisky-making techniques, designed to harmonise the distinct characteristics of the individual rums into a cohesive whole. Each batch is individually numbered and carefully monitored throughout the ageing and production process.


The selection of casks plays a key role in shaping the character of Dos Monarcas XO Aged Spice. The Panama Rum used as a base is stored in selected American and European oak casks that have previously been used to age sherry for at least eight years. The influence of these casks imparts additional fruity, spicy and oaky notes to the resulting rum-based spirit. Dos Monarcas XO is presented at 40 per cent ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. The combination of eight-year-old Panama Rum, the influence of sherry casks, American and European oak, and numbered batches makes this bottling an interesting alternative for lovers of complex, cask-influenced rum-based spirits.
