The Balvenie The Creation of a Classic is a special bottling from the renowned Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Speyside, and celebrates the birth of a maturation process that is now widely used: secondary maturation in sherry casks. This whisky edition pays tribute to the pioneering work of Balvenie’s long-serving Malt Master, David C. Stewart MBE, who developed the ‘Double Cask Maturation’ process in the 1980s – initially maturing the whisky in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a finish in Oloroso sherry casks.

The whisky is bottled at 43 % ABV, is non-chill-filtered and impresses with its harmonious balance of sweet oaky spice, fruity notes and a creamy texture. The combination of American white oak and Spanish sherry wood lends it depth, smoothness and elegance – typical of Balvenie, but with the added appeal of a special historical context. This bottling is presented in a stylish gift box that will appeal to both collectors and connoisseurs.
