Description
This rum is characterised by the unique climatic conditions of Nicaragua, a Central American country. It is produced by the Compania Licorera de Nicaragua, which has been based in Managua since 1890. However, the actual distillery is not in Managua, but near the sugar factory in Chichigalpa, some 120 kilometres away.
The rum’s name is derived from the small island of Zapatera in Lake Cocibolca in Nicaragua, which gives it a distinctive identity.
Zapatera Rum is matured in 200-litre American white oak casks, which give it a rich array of aromas and a balanced flavour profile.
Thanks to its careful ageing in American white oak and its origins in the heart of Nicaragua, Zapatera Rum offers a unique tasting experience that is appreciated by rum lovers worldwide.
