Shaped by Nicaragua’s unique climatic conditions, this rum is produced at the historic Compania Licorera de Nicaragua, which has been based in Managua since 1890. However, production itself does not take place directly in Managua, but in Chichigalpa, in the immediate vicinity of the local sugar factory, some 120 kilometres away.
Named after the picturesque island of Zapatera in Lake Cocibolca, Zapatera Rum reflects Nicaragua’s rich natural and cultural heritage. Ageing in 200-litre American white oak casks not only imparts a profound variety of aromas but also a balanced flavour profile that connoisseurs particularly appreciate.
Thanks to its careful maturation in American white oak and its origins in the heart of Nicaragua, Zapatera Rum offers a unique tasting experience that rum lovers worldwide appreciate.
