This rum, rich in character and whose uniqueness is shaped by Nicaragua’s climate, comes from the renowned Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua. Although the company has been based in the capital, Managua, since 1890, production takes place at the distillery near Chichigalpa, strategically located close to a sugar factory, some 120 kilometres from Managua.
Zapatera Rum takes its name from the idyllic island of Zapatera in Lake Cocibolca, which gives it a special connection to Nicaraguan nature and culture.
To bring out the full range of its flavours, Zapatera Rum is matured in carefully selected 200-litre oak casks, which lend depth and complexity to its flavour profile.
With its deep roots in Nicaragua’s rich culture and unique climatic conditions, Zapatera Rum offers an authentic taste experience that rum connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike will appreciate.
