This characterful rum, whose uniqueness is characterised by Nicaragua's climate, comes from the renowned Compania Licorera de Nicaragua. Although based in the capital Managua since 1890, production takes place at the distillery near Chichigalpa, strategically located near a sugar factory around 120 kilometres from Managua.

Zapatera Rum owes its name to the idyllic island of Zapatera in Lake Cocibolca, which gives it a special connection to Nicaraguan nature and culture.

The Zapatera Rum matures in carefully selected 200-litre oak barrels to complete its aromatic diversity, giving its flavour profile depth and complexity.
