The Francoli family distillery in Ghemme, Italy, has existed since 1875 and is one of the largest and best-known distilleries in Piedmont. It was the first grappa distillery to produce grappa without harming the environment and ensuring a CO2-neutral balance. The carbon dioxide emissions produced during distillation are offset by reforestation of the tropical rainforest in Costa Rica. For example, the heat for the distillation process is generated from plant-based fuels. The company is also involved in the "Impatto Zero" project and has acquired a protected area of 340,000 square metres in the forests of Costa Rica.

Luigi Francoli Grappa Rovere di Slavonia & Limousin is an exquisite blend of a Nebbiolo grappa aged for three years and Dolcetto and Moscato grappas aged for eight months. The grappa is initially matured for 26 months in Slovenian oak barrels before being refined for a further eight months in Limousin barrique barrels.

This careful maturation gives the grappa a unique, complex variety of flavours and a particularly fine structure that delights both connoisseurs and gourmets alike.
