It originates from Chiapas, a region in southern Mexico characterised by its tropical climate and sugarcane cultivation. A distinctive feature of this limited edition is the combination of sugarcane juice and molasses, which forms the basis of the rum. Following distillation, the rum is aged for a total of ten years in American oak and native Chiapas oak. It is precisely this blend of different oak varieties that contributes significantly to the robust and complex character of this long-aged edition, lending it a distinctively pronounced oak influence that is unusual for rum.
