The Nagahama Roman 8 Years Old Pure Malt Whisky is a rare and impressive bottling from the small, artisanal Nagahama Distillery, which is one of the youngest and most exciting distilleries in Japan. Situated on the shores of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, Nagahama combines traditional whisky craftsmanship with Japanese precision and a fine sense of maturation and blending.

The term pure malt means that this whisky consists exclusively of malt whiskies from different distilleries - in this case, single malts matured for eight years, both from Nagahama's own production and from Scottish and Japanese stocks, have been skilfully married together. The addition Roman stands for "story" or "narrative" - each bottle is an expression of the journey and development of the young distillery. Bottled at 47% vol. without chill-filtration or colouring, this whisky is powerful, elegant and complex.
