The Sibona GRAPPA RISERVA Botti da SAUTERNES is an exceptional Grappa Riserva from Piedmont, with an alcohol content of 44 per cent, in a 0.5-litre bottle including gift packaging. Distilleria Sibona uses pomace from freshly harvested grapes, selected during the grape harvest itself, with the aromatic Moscato and Brachetto grape varieties being predominantly used. Distillation takes place entirely on-site in copper stills under the supervision of experienced oenologists and master distillers. Following an extended ageing period in stainless steel, the four-year wood-maturation process begins: the grappa first spends two years in medium-sized barrels made of classic oak, before the special second maturation phase follows.


For a further 24 months, the Sibona Grappa Riserva matures in former Sauternes casks, which were previously used by renowned wineries for the famous French sweet wine. Sibona pioneered this unusual cask finishing as an innovative form of grappa maturation. In total, the grappa thus spends four years in wood, half of which is spent in the character-defining Sauternes casks. The Riserva is bottled in the elegant, graduated 0.5-litre Sibona bottle with a level indicator on the side and a pourer, and presented in a gift tin with a lid. The combination of Moscato and Brachetto pomace, long ageing and a Sauternes cask finish makes this Piedmontese Grappa Riserva a particularly distinctive speciality.
