The Barbancourt Rhum Five Stars 8 Years, which is produced on the island of Haiti, is a rare spirit in Germany. This rhum, which is distilled on the Cul de Sac plain, is made from sugar cane juice that has been sourced exclusively from Domaine Barbancourt's own plantation since 1952. After harvesting, the sugar cane juice is fermented for three days, followed by a double distillation. The first distillation process takes place in continuous columns, while the pot still method is used for the second round.

The rhum is matured in French Limousin oak barrels, which can hold up to 70 hectolitres, for at least eight years. After this time, the rhum is bottled as Barbancourt Five Star Reserve Special, which is characterised by its golden colour and complex aroma profile.
