Penninger Blutwurz Kräuter Liqueur is a traditional speciality from Penninger, a Bavarian family business that has been known for authentic spirits with a regional character since 1905. With an alcohol content of 50% by volume and bottled in a 0.7-litre bottle, this liqueur is one of the strongest and most distinctive of its kind.


The liqueur owes its name to the root of the bloodroot (Potentilla erecta), which is traditionally used in folk medicine and as a flavouring ingredient. Penninger Blutwurz is made according to a tried-and-tested family recipe based on natural ingredients and has a strong, earthy flavour. The combination of herbs, roots and spices makes it a distinctive liqueur with regional cult status.
