Unofficially, the Ardbeg distillery has been distilling since 1794 - in 1815, the distillery was bought by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg.

"Ardbeg" comes from the Gaelic and translates as "little hill".

The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region.

This Ardbeg whisky is named after a very remote and lonely area with the cape "Mull of Oa", which stretches as a headland along the island.

The special thing about this whisky is definitely its maturation before blending.

The whiskies it contains are matured in a sweet PX sherry cask, a spicy virgin oak cask and an American oak cask.
