Unofficially, the Ardbeg distillery has been distilling since 1794 - in 1815, the distillery was bought by John McDougall and officially opened under the name Ardbeg.

"Ardbeg" comes from the Gaelic and translates as "little hill".

The distillery is located on the south coast of the Islay whisky region.

This towering expression proves unequivocally that age cannot tame the smoky power of Ardbeg. It can, however, produce some of the most complex and majestic flavours ever to emerge from the Ardbeg Distillery.

Bottled from incredibly rare casks filled during some of the distillery's darkest days, this is Ardbeg at its most complex, balanced and beguiling.

Majestic flavours of smoked cream and earthy bonfires are masterfully interwoven with layers of pine and fragrant candle wax.
