Description
Amrut Distilleries Private Limited is a company belonging to the N.R. Jagdale Group, one of the oldest industrial groups in India, which is also known as the Silicon Valley of India.
The group was founded in 1948 by Mr Radhakrishna Jagdale, initially as a small spirits blending and bottling plant.
Amrut Whisky is proud to be India’s first single malt whisky. Its name translates as ‘nectar of the gods/of life’ and reflects the exceptional quality and enjoyment of this whisky.
This Amrut is a single-cask bottling and is matured in casks that previously held port wine. Only the finest Indian grain from the foothills of the Himalayas is used, and it is distilled in small batches according to ancient Indian tradition to preserve the natural flavours.
The distillate is then matured in oak casks under tropical conditions at an altitude of approximately 1,000 metres in Bangalore.
