Plantation Rum BARBADOS 10 Years Old Oloroso Sherry Maturation Edition 2021 is an exquisite bottling from the West Indies Rum Distillery, which captivates with its exceptionally complex maturation. This rum is made from molasses and undergoes a three-day fermentation process that reflects the typical flavour of the Caribbean. The rum is initially matured for four years in bourbon casks in Barbados, during which time it develops a solid foundation of woody and vanilla notes. It is then matured for a further five and a half years in ex-Cognac casks made of French oak, which lends it additional complexity and fruity depth.

What makes the 2021 edition special is the four-month finish in Oloroso sherry casks, which lends the rum an extra dimension. Oloroso sherry, known for its oxidative ageing, is a full-bodied, robust and dry sherry that imparts an intense, spicy and dry sherry note to the rum. This unique maturation process results in a rum that combines both the freshness and sweetness of the Caribbean with the depth and complexity of an excellent sherry.
