Cihuatán Sahumerio Rum is an elaborately crafted limited edition from El Salvador, produced by the long-established Licorera Cihuatán – the country’s first rum distillery. This special bottling pays homage to the ancient Mayan rituals in which so-called ‘Sahumerios’ – ritual incense burners – were used to honour the gods with fragrant offerings such as cocoa, honey, dried flowers and fruit. It was precisely these aromas that inspired the master blenders to create the flavour profile of this limited-edition rum.

The Cihuatán Sahumerio has been bottled at 45.2% ABV and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and selected casks, specifically chosen to complement the aromas of the Mayan offerings. This edition combines the distillery’s expertise with deep cultural significance, offering a complex, deep and yet harmonious flavour profile. It is presented in a decorative gift box that visually reflects the ritual theme and emphasises the collector’s value of this limited edition.
