The Speyburn distillery, which was founded in 1897 by brothers John and Edward Hopkins in the Speyside region of Scotland, takes its name from the nearby River Spey. After the distillery became the property of Scottish Malt Distillers in 1962 and was taken over by Pacific Spirits in 1991, it has belonged to International Beverage Holdings since 2006. The water required, which comes from the Broad Burn and the Granty Burn, is used for production, while the whisky is matured in sherry and ex-bourbon casks.

The Speyburn 10 Years Old, which matures for at least 10 years in a harmonious combination of American ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, epitomises the classic Speyburn style. With its light, natural and sweet character, this whisky is an authentic expression of the region, characterised by its unmistakable whisky tradition - pure Speyside, nothing more and nothing less.
