The Arran single malt is first matured for over eight years in traditional oak casks, which give it its basic structure and balanced flavours. This is followed by a special finish in carefully selected port casks from a small, renowned producer in Portugal.

These port casks, with their sweet and fruity character, are personally selected by the master to ensure that they create the perfect basis for a harmonious combination of wine and whisky flavours. This finish adds depth and complexity to the whisky, with the soft, fruity notes of the port wine blending seamlessly with the malty and woody tones of the whisky.
