At the end of 2019, Macallan launched Edition No. 5, a single malt produced in collaboration with the Pantone Colour Institute in New Jersey. This limited edition draws attention to the natural colouring of the whiskies, as all Macallan whiskies are bottled without additional colouring. They are matured exclusively in American oak casks, which are carefully selected by hand by Macallan's Master Distiller.
