The Carlos I Solera Gran Reserva AMONTILLADO Brandy de Jerez 40.3% vol. 0.7 l is an exceptional Spanish brandy speciality from Jerez, which impresses with its meticulous cask ageing and the use of historic sherry casks. It is produced by the long-established Osborne company in El Puerto de Santa María, in the Andalusian province of Cádiz. What makes this Brandy de Jerez Solera Gran Reserva so special is its two-stage ageing process, lasting a total of five years. First, the distillate is aged for four years in former Amontillado and Oloroso sherry casks, in which sherry has previously been aged for more than 50 years. The brandy then undergoes a further year of ageing in casks from the historic Solera La Honda, which are over a hundred years old.
