The Lazy Dodo Single Estate Rum comes from the island of Mauritius. This dark rum is produced as a single estate rum and matures for an average of twelve years in oak barrels.

A special feature of this rum is its composition of different vintage rums, which are matured in different types of barrels, including oak barrels, ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sugar syrup barrels. The master blender skilfully combines these distillates to create the characteristic flavour of Lazy Dodo Single Estate Rum. This rum gets its unique character from a short finish in new white oak barrels from America, which gives it exotic flavours, woody notes and a refreshing freshness.

The name "Lazy Dodo" refers to the extinct dodo bird, which disappeared in the 18th century and was considered lazy due to its inability to fly.

This bird became a symbol of Mauritius and inspired the distillery to name this rum as a tribute to its homeland and in memory of extinct species.
