The Dona Celia Tequila Reposado 100% de Agave 40% Vol. 0.7 l + GB combines traditional Mexican tequila production with an exceptional presentation. This high-quality reposado tequila from Mexico is produced exclusively from 100% blue Weber agave, the raw materials for which come from both the Valley (lowlands) and the Highlands of Jalisco. After harvesting, the agaves are traditionally cooked in brick ovens (hornos) and sometimes in autoclaves. The cooked agaves are then extracted using a roller mill before fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, as is usual for classic tequila from Jalisco. After double distillation, this reposado tequila is allowed to mature for around six months in former bourbon whiskey barrels, resulting in a harmonious balance of agave, wood and subtle spicy notes.


The presentation of this Tequila Reposado is a special highlight: Dona Celia Tequila is bottled in a handmade and hand-painted porcelain bottle inspired by the famous Mexican figure La Catrina. This iconic figure is based on a zinc etching by the Mexican graphic artist José Guadalupe Posada from 1910 and became a symbolic figure during the Mexican Revolution. Originally intended as a satirical depiction, La Catrina later became an important part of the cultural symbolism surrounding Día de los Muertos. Today, it can be found in numerous works of art, figures, illustrations and cultural representations of Mexico.
