Auchentoshan Blood Oak owes its name to the special maturation in ex-bourbon casks and red wine casks, which not only give the whisky depth and spice, but also its striking deep reddish-golden colour. While the bourbon casks contribute vanilla, coconut and soft wood notes, the red wine casks provide intense fruit accents, spicy tension and an expressive structure.
