Description
Appenzeller Alpenbitter 29% is a traditional Swiss herbal liqueur from Appenzell, whose history dates back to 1902. It was then that Emil Ebneter developed the family recipe – which remains unchanged to this day – using a total of 42 herbs and spices. Carefully selected roots, leaves, flowers and seeds are used, the exact composition and proportions of which remain a closely guarded secret known only to a very small circle within the family. Appenzeller Alpenbitter is made from 100% natural ingredients and contains no artificial additives. This combination of Alpine origins, a recipe tradition spanning over a century and a complex herbal composition gives it its unmistakable character.
With an alcohol content of 29 per cent, Appenzeller Alpenbitter is spicy, tart and yet harmoniously balanced. Earthy herbal notes meet floral accents, delicate root aromas and a subtle sweetness, creating a multi-layered overall profile. The generous 1-litre bottle is particularly well-suited for the hospitality industry, home bars and social gatherings, where the herbal liqueur can be enjoyed both neat and in long drinks. As a Swiss digestif, it is equally impressive after hearty meals, as well as an aperitif or a mixer. Anyone looking for a herbal liqueur made with 42 herbs and spices will find here a traditional speciality with a distinctive Alpine character.
