The Macallan 12 Years Old DOUBLE CASK COLLECTION is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 12 years, with an ABV of 40 per cent, presented in a 0.7-litre bottle with a gift box. The Double Cask Collection combines The Macallan’s traditional signature with a carefully selected range of different oak casks. Sherry-seasoned American oak and European oak casks are used for maturation, in which the single malt is aged for at least twelve years. American oak contributes in particular to the smoother, sweeter character, whilst European oak adds extra spice and structure. The careful balance of both cask types forms the heart of The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old.

The Macallan is one of Scotland’s most traditional whisky houses and was founded in 1824. In the Double Cask Collection, the selection and preparation of the oak casks play a particularly important role, with the influence of sherry-seasoned casks being deliberately emphasised. The Macallan 12 Years Double Cask thus combines a clearly defined age statement with the distillery’s characteristic cask management. Its natural colour derives exclusively from contact with the oak casks, with no added colouring.
