El Recuerdo de Oaxaca Mezcal Joven is a traditionally crafted mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico, made from 100 per cent Agave angustifolia, better known as Espadín agave. As a Mezcal Joven, it does not undergo extended cask ageing, thereby highlighting the agave’s original character and the production methods typical of mezcal. The bottling bears the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) and reflects a regional tradition whose roots stretch back to the 16th century. El Recuerdo de Oaxaca sees this edition as an expression of Oaxaca’s heritage, character and artisanal legacy. This variant is deliberately bottled without the agave worm, ensuring the focus remains entirely on the distillate and its classic mezcal profile.


At 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, El Recuerdo Mezcal Joven 100% Agave is aimed particularly at connoisseurs of a straightforward and authentic Espadín mezcal. Agave angustifolia is one of the most important agave species for mezcal production and forms the sole raw material in this mezcal. The absence of an agave worm underscores the Purist approach of this bottling, whilst the characteristic smokiness reflects the traditional style of a mezcal from Oaxaca.
